Welcome to Finding Flavor! My name is Chey and I am the girl behind the flavorful recipes.
I currently live in Charleston, SC with my boyfriend Alex and our rescue pittie, Kodak.
I wake up and go to sleep thinking about food. I’m the friend who is talking about what’s for dinner, while I am still eating lunch. And, to put it simply, I can’t follow a recipe to save my life. Not because I can’t follow directions or anything, but because I am constantly putting my own spin on things. Sometimes I try to make the meal more health conscious, sometimes I need to add a little flavor to being healthy!
In the past few years, I’ve realized how important it is to listen to your body when it comes to food. Leading me to be more conscious of the foods that I put in my body. Don’t get me wrong, we still order pizza weekly! But, I started adding more fresh foods into my diet, swapping for healthier ingredients, and reading the nutrition facts on the products I buy while grocery shopping. The biggest thing I have learned is to know the ingredients you are cooking with, and eating.
I believe that we should all live a balanced life, and part of that is also indulging when it comes to food. Life would be so boring if you could not add a little extra cheese to your pasta if you are feeling it. Oftentimes we can find a balance of indulgent ingredients that bring the flavors we love, and healthy ingredients that keep our body feeling good.
My goal for Finding Flavor is to provide you with a flavorful collection of healthier and indulgent recipes, that you can choose from based on what your body is craving.
